While Feldspar is the most abundant mineral in the Earth’s crust, quartz is the second most abundant, yet it is more commonly used than Feldspar due to its piezoelectric abilities. Rose Quartz is a type of Feldspar. It comprises a continuous framework of SiO4 silicon–oxygen tetrahedra, with each oxygen being shared between two tetrahedra, giving an overall formula of SiO2.

Wide varieties of quartz exist, several of which are semi-precious gemstones like Amethyst and Citrine. You can find pink and usually transparent Rose quartz in South Africa, the United States, Brazil, Japan, India, and Madagascar. Trace amounts of titanium, iron, or manganese cause a beautiful pink color.
