Book Review: Setting God Free:Awakening to Miracles

Five Out of Five Stars for Setting God Free

Book by Sherri Lane

I completed a book by Sherri Lane titled Setting God Free:  Awakening to Miracles.  I would highly recommend this book to anyone who is a student of spiritual studies. Sherri and I connected through Facebook. We were both members of a Group for a Reiki Practitioner specializing in marketing Reiki to the Medical Community. We both had the same ideas and posted similar comments in various discussions. One thing lead to another, and Sherri sent me a Friend request. I learned Sherri completed A Course In Miracles, had a page devoted to ACIM, and published this book. I kept putting off ordering this book because I was waiting for it to come out for Nook, but Sherri said that it would only be available through Amazon. Let me tell you, I am glad I ordered that book and read it. Sherri covers many topics in the book that speaks personally to me on a spiritual level and may just speak to you as well.

My Interest in Spiritual Material

As a person who devours personal growth and spiritual books by Dr. Wayne Dyer, Eckhart Tolle, and Caroline Mysse, I spent the greater part of my life exploring my own spiritual path and the reasons why I am here on this earth.

Like Sherri, I was always interested in reading spiritual material as a child. I grew up getting up at 5 am on Sunday mornings, watching Davey and Goliath. I read the 10 Volume Bible Story Series at least 10 times. Yet 50 years later, I still remember the enjoyment and wonder of reading those books and my personal spiritual connection to God/Creator/Source at such a young age.

Even though I have a deep interest in and love spiritual material, I did not grow up going to church regularly. I see no need to do so as an adult since I believe Church exists everywhere, not just a building on Sunday mornings.

It seems that Sherri and I may have that in common, as well. Sherri and I both perform Reiki, and it was interesting to read about her Reiki experiences in her book. Her relationship with her Christian friend’s fear of Reiki not being from God/Source/Universe/Creator sounds like my experiences with Christian family members and friends.

One of the examples that Sherri gives in her book deals with a mission trip in which several teenage missionaries experience God profoundly because they are open to other ways of worshiping. To sum it all up, there are many ways of setting God free, we have to be open.
